About me.
I’m Janie, a licensed marriage and family therapist and relationship specialist. I spend a lot of time helping stressed out teens, millennials in quarter-life-crises, and men working on relationship issues.
Some other stuff.
In addition to my personal practice, I founded Spaces Therapy in Highland Park. I also conduct trainings, lead lectures, and train my dog Phyllis on how to be the perfect therapy dog (see photo for cuteness reference). I also supervise and currently have Jed Meyers (read more below) working at my Highland Park location. When I'm not in the therapy office you can often find me trying every coffee shop in the greater LA area, psychoanalyzing The Office (is it just me or does Jim have some seriously avoidant tendencies), or sipping on wine with my husband.
How I work.
01.
–
I do depth-oriented therapy where we spend time looking at what is happening for you today while also exploring your history to see how it connects to current struggles
02.
–
I see my role as helping you come to understand the meaning and role of what you have been through on who you are today.
03.
–
I’m often described as gentle and collaborative and I find that these qualities mixed with humor are what makes me good at working with my clients.
04.
–
I’m here to help you find clarity in a confusing world
